Oz Tenpin & Entertainment Centre Ballarat

Came here yesterday with my family and my little boy, the staff were very friendly, seems like they are still working out some things but overall was a lovely experience 😊 my little one had the best time, one of the ladies on staff seemed very smitten with him. It's nice when staff seem happy and like they enjoy interacting with people.

Went to the new OzTenPin place in Ballarat for a date night with my wife. Lanes were all booked out for the next 3 hours, so we decided to try out the arcade. This is where our disappointment lays. Being to several arcades in the VIC region, we had high hopes, but we were very upset to find that half of the machines/games that actually looked like any fun were out of order, and about 20% of the remaining games were not working properly or just unplayable. A small handful of the games that we could play were decent at best, some were way too short, ball games only gave up to 3 or so balls when other arcades typically give you up to 5, so trying to post a decent score to get tickets is mostly impossible. Only upside was that the staff were lovely. Hoping that they can work out these issues, but I can’t see myself or my wife going back anytime soon.

Poor arcade experience. More expensive per play than centres down at Melbourne and Melton, several of the machines were out of order and the playtime on many of the machines is just woeful (again, high per-play price compared to other arcades). They have some games that other arcades have so you can directly compare the playtime and its MUCH less here. With Timezone on its way you would think this would be a golden opportunity to build a customer base before there is a true competitor but it appears it's a cash grab while no competition. Also some machines clearly have a ticket function but do not dispense here. Comically had to wait for the hammer machine screen to go through the dispensing ticket graphic even though none appeared so that function seems off too. Sad that it is a better experience for the kids to drive them to Melton or Melbourne than use local. Don't mind paying more if there is value or having less playtime if its cheaper but this is the worst of both worlds (when the machines actually work).
